What I really love about living in a cold country is the fashion around it and the fact that I can get to play around with different outfits and footwear, as well as match different fabrics, patterns, styles and layer them as I like. Of course, since I have a huge crush on winter clothes overall, this is not an issue for me.
I come from a hot country where winter clothes were never or rarely sold in the shops because the climate (at least in my city) was too hot. So when I moved to Europe, I felt immediately attracted to everything related to winter fashion, like any other girl, I suppose.
The other day I went sale shopping and found this beautiful floral dress that I had to own no matter what, but I wasn’t thinking that I was not going to be able to wear it much because, you know, it’s winter. However, the beauty of winter is that you can style and layer around your clothes, which is exactly what I did.
I am not a fashion guru or someone that can preach about the most up to date fashion items, but what really defines my own style is that I tend to combine trendy pieces with classic ones and be able to wear them all year round.
But finding my own style has evolved so much. I remember at some point in my life, I wanted to be like Avril Lavigne or like Amy Lee from Evanescence and was trying to dress like them (I was so young and naive then). Gladly, I didn’t stick to that style for long.
So tell me! What was your style back in the day? Don’t be shy and share it with me. We all have been there 🙂
