What I truly love about Ireland, is the easiness of finding beautiful scenery anywhere you go. It may rain a lot in this country, but when the sun goes out, oh boy! You need to go out and do something. I am an outdoor kind of person and like taking advantage of any opportunity I get in order to see places.
This isn’t the first time I come to Malahide and its Castle, but is the first time I get to see the castle under some sun believe it or not. This is only one of the over 30,000 castles you can find in this country – as per some research I’ve been doing recently.
See, for me castles only existed in fairy tales until I came to Europe and I am just amazed about them. Besides each of them has a unique story. This one for instance, played a central role in Medieval Irish history and belonged to the Talbot Family for over 800 years. Now, imagine living there!
Leaving the Malahide castle, the village is small and beautiful, also considered one of the nicest areas to live in but not necessarily the cheapest. This area has a good reputation in terms of safety, people, fancy little shops and good looks mostly. For me it’s definitely a little gem you should visit if you ever come to the Emerald Isle.
I really love spending time in the village, walking near the marina and going towards the beach to chill out. Especially if the weather is nice and you don’t need to worry about carrying around a jacket and an umbrella with you! haha
I hope you are all having an amazing almost end of the week!
