My May Birchbox post is finally here and I want to tell you all about the items I received over a week ago or so. This month’s theme is: ‘It’s all in the Details’.
As usual, this month we got to pick an item and this is something I love because there are colours that won’t suit me and I like to keep it safe. This time it was an eyeshadow. Anyhow, let me tell you at once all about the 5 items I got for this month 😉
Marsk – Mineral Eyeshadow
For this month we were asked to choose between 2 colours: Fifty Shades or Vanilla Frosting. I barely use dark colours on my eyes, unless I go clubbing (which is not that often). Even so, I always like to keep my colours in the ‘Natural Glam‘ range so I picked the Vanilla Frosting colour. I am loving the effect but I’m hating the size!
This little baby claims to be made of 100% natural ingredients and seems to be perfect for those sensitive eyes.
Beauty Protector – Protect & Volume Hair Spray
First of all, this spray smells divine! I prefer this spray to the first one I received in my January Birchbox. I like products that help protecting my hair from the aggressive heat and this is ideal. Beauty & Protector don’t use chemicals that are bad for you, which makes it suitable for vegans. Not bad, right?
Doucee – Punk Voluminizer Mascara
I was very glad to see this mascara when I was unboxing my May Birchbox because it was exactly what I needed. I must say that it is the first time I hear about this brand but this is the point about beauty boxes – getting to know new products/brands.
When I applied the mascara, my eyelashes got a lovely volume and I didn’t need to wiggle it on my lashes repeatedly like other mascaras I’ve purchased in the past. Thumbs up to Doucee Punk Volumizer Mascara!
Doux Me – Pure Spring Mist
This mineral rich spring water product claims to rejuvenate stressed-out skin and to be perfect for dry skin. I am liking the sound of it! The first time I sprayed this on my face, my skin felt so relieved and hydrated after a hot shower. It reminded me of the Avene Thermal Spring Water I use when I’m on holidays somewhere sunny.
This kind of products can be perfect for the hot summer days if you want to hydrate and relief your skin from the sun, but if you live in a cold and humid place, I don’t think this is necessary.
Whish – Firming Body Cream
Personally, I think Birchbox can never go wrong with a body cream. I am completely obsessed with body creams! I wear them all the time, well.. at least twice a day! This firming body cream contains organic shea butter, cocoa seed butter and green tea; it also helps with the appearance of stretch marks. What’s there not to like?! 🙂
