Good evening everyone!
Following my 2017 aspirations, this year I have decided to book little trips here and there to disconnect a bit from Dublin and from the routine overall. So the first destination of this year was Strasbourg in France. The great thing about this place is that you are right at the border with Germany and you can experience a bit of both cultures.
This is only my second time in this lovely city, but the weather was nothing compared to the first time I was there back in July of last year.
Visiting the spa was definitely something special and relaxing; the thermal waters were absolutely INCREDIBLE and I swear I could spend hours and hours in there! I’m already planing to return next month.
As for the restaurant, the place was nicely decorated and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant offers Alsatian specialties, homemade Foie gras and what I like the most – Tarte Flambée or Flammekueche! Absolute delish! Before the food arrived I ordered Picon citron with beer – so good and refreshing! A visit to this place is definitely a MUST!
I highly recommend visiting these two places if you are planning a short visit in this grand east region of Alsace. You’ll take back with you a really good experience and a happy belly!
As the sales started at the time I was there, I went to Sephora, as we don’t have it in Dublin. Of course I couldn’t resist to purchase a few things that “I really needed”. So I bought two lipsticks from their own brand, cleansing wipes and lastly, a bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. I’ll be sharing info about these products on a separate post very soon 😉
After this, I stopped for a bite or ‘goûter’, in a lovely café called Ô Gourmet where they serve delicious little canapés and sell their own gourmet products. It was hard to make a choice because everything looked so nice, but I opted for the Tartelette aux crevettes in the end (no regrets).
Next month I am planning to return to this city, but this time with a schedule in hand to do the following:
- Hike in the snow with raquettes.
- Shop in Zweibrücken – the Style Outlets.
- Back to the therms.
- Do the tourist around the city and enjoy Strasbourg Mom Amour St. Valentines festival .
I really can’t wait to be back and to have loads of fun! I’ll keep you posted.
