The AMAZING Canadian R&B duo, Majid Jordan, was doing a tour in Europe back in Spring. I have to say that I’ve been following their music since their official debut EP, A Place Like This. So I couldn’t miss this opportunity and decided to go to see them in Oslo, Norway, as they weren’t performing in Ireland.
The flight tickets were extremely cheap with Ryanair (€20 return) for mid-June and as for the hotel – we stayed 3 nights in the Comfort Hotel Xpress Central Station for €338 and it’s literally in the heart of the city. The hotel is so modern and doesn’t have a receptionist desk, I mean it, it’s more of a DIY kind of hotel.
Ok, before continuing I must say that Oslo is very clean, pretty and super safe (plus the weather in June is unbelievably good), but the down side is that the city is far from being cheap.
Anyway… before arriving in Oslo, we took some time and had a look at a few websites to plan the trip ahead and we came across ‘Visit Oslo‘ where we purchased a 48 hours pass for only €54 that included free-entrance to loads of museums as well as many discounts to several pubs and restaurants.
Here I have gathered a list of museums and places we visited during our short stay.
- Munch Museum
- The Kon-Tiki Museum
- Fram Museum – The Polar Ship Fram
- Nobel Peace Center
- The Vicking Ship Museum
- The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet
- The Royal Palace
- Aker Brygge Wharf
- Parkteatret – where Majid Jordan played
The final night in Oslo we went to the Parkteatret to see Majid Jordan performing and guess what? 🙂 as we went hours in advance to have a few drinks in the bar next door before the madness started, something amazing happened! Majid and Jordan were just walking around and of course we said ‘hi’ and told them that we were there initially to see them playing. I also advised them to visit my beautiful country – Ecuador.
To end this post, let me leave you with my fav song from Majid Jordan. Hope you like it 😉
Loads of love!
